Watermelon Juice WTR MLN WTR Recall

People shopping for WTRMLN WTR expect their freshly pressed watermelon juice to be smooth and refreshing, but a manufacturing error has left some of the fruit juice contaminated with free-floating plastic bits. According to the Food and Drug Administration, World Waters LLC is voluntarily recalling WTRMLN WTR shipped across the nation to multiple retailers due to the mishap.

The watermelon juice in question is the original WTRMLN WTR 12-packs, which were delivered to grocery stores between December 22, 2018, and February 5, 2019. These bottles reportedly have "soft plastic that may be loosely floating in some of the finished products," the brand said in the announcement.

The full list of stores affected by the recall can be accessed here. It seems that Walmart is the largest retailer currently being affected, but regional chains such as Publix and Winn-Dixie have also been named on the recall notice.

As of today, there have not been any reports of illnesses or injuries related to the plastic contamination. The company says that the voluntary recall is "out of an abundance of caution and to ensure consumer safety," the statement reads.

You can check if your WTRMLN WTR is part of the recall by locating the lot number printed on the bottom of the bottle—if your juice is affected, the manufacturer will send you a coupon for a free replacement with proof of purchase. We'll update this story with more information as it becomes available.
