Tyson Chicken Strips

If you’ve got any Tyson chicken strips in your freezer, make sure you give the packaging a quick once-over before opening them. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, Tyson Foods is recalling over 69,000 pounds of frozen chicken strips that might be contaminated with pieces of metal.

All the chicken strips included in the recall were produced on November 30, 2018 but have best-by dates in November 2019. Here’s a full list of the products included in the recall:

The recalled chicken strips also have the establishment number “P-7221” on the back of the packaging. Also, the last two digits of the case code should match the first two numbers of the time stamp, since the last two numbers correspond the hour the strips were produced.

According to the USDA, the products included in the recall were shipped to retailers nationwide, though there’s no word yet on which stores they might’ve been sold in. The problem was discovered after the FSIS received two different consumer complaints about metal pieces in the chicken strips. Luckily, there haven’t been any reports of illness or injury yet.

Make sure you check your freezer to see if you have any of the chicken strips included in the recall. If you do, throw them out or return them to the store where you bought them for a refund.
