How to Make Friendship Bracelets

What You'll Need: Tape measure, embroidery floss, scissors, tape or safety pin

Make It:

Friendship bracelet process

  1. Measure the circumference of your child's wrist. Multiply this number by 7 and cut embroidery floss to that length.
  2. Line up all the strings side by side, fold in half, and knot to create a small loop at the top.
  3. Tape or pin the loop to a secure surface.
  4. Have your child place the leftmost string off to one side while gathering the rest in one hand. Begin knotting with the outer thread, making a loop around the rest of the strings and pulling through (as shown). After about ten knots, have her continue the process using a different color of string from the bundle.
